Dr Annette Foster
Neurodivergent-Led Practice
Understanding, support and community for Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD people.
I'm Dr Annette Foster, an Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD educator, researcher, consultant and facilitator. I work with individuals, organisations and communities to create support that actually fits, grounded in lived experience, research, creative practice and years of experience.
What I do
One-to-one support for Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD people, as well as parents, partners and family members who want to better understand and support a neurodivergent person.
Sessions can explore self-discovery, burnout, sensory experiences, education, work, family relationships, self-advocacy and support needs.

About me
My lived experience is not separate from my work. It is part of the foundation of it. Everything I do is shaped by both lived experience and years of working alongside Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD people in educational, creative and support settings.
My work is also grounded in participatory research, creative practice and a neurodiversity-led perspective. I focus on self-knowledge, practical support and creating environments where neurodivergent people can thrive.
What people say
"UoKA and So You're Autistic are very important and there are so many other Autistics who really need this. It is the only Autistic-run programme I have heard of in any university, which is vital for understanding, support and providing essential skills. Non-Autistic individuals, no matter how trained, will never be able to understand our experience better than our own. This is a huge reason why I recommend the University of Kent to my other Autistic friends."
"If it wasn't for UoKA I would never have found out how to be my true Autistic self and would have struggled getting through University incredibly. I was undiagnosed when I first started attending and because of UoKA and SYA not only have I now got a full diagnosis but also discovered I was ADHD and learnt valuable coping mechanisms. Having a space to meet other Autistic people has been life-changing and I have truly found my people and my family."
Whether you're an individual looking for support, or an organisation ready to do things differently, I'd love to hear from you.
